smokin addiction is hard to quit cos ur brain cells actually change physiology as a smoker, and want 'fixes' of nicotine. what you need to do when you crave a fag is do something MORE interesting instead. sneak out have a beer, go on the toilet and... book you gf into motel room round the corner at lunch time, go eat your fave bad food, anything that works for you. but a drink of water wont cut it! after about 3 weeks of torture you will break the cycle i reckon. you might get the sack in between for bein a total maniac and or sex maniac but you might beat your addiction!

Im not in the states. Online poker in the USA is not illegal despite the new legislation. It simply tries to prevent the placing of bets via american banking institutions, and criminalises the companies if they accept wagers from USA bank accounts, but not the player. The players will simply fund their account by some other means.

No im simply a recreational online poker player who wants to make money. I am interested in being able to read cards table info from online poker rooms via c++/c#, but thats a different subject. Im just kinda interested in playin a game which can make me money, 350 dollars on a sunday afternoon aint bad in my opinion. :cool:

Got my online poker game majorly sorted. For anyone considering online poker a word of warning.. You might win money at first and think you got it sussed... Then one day you lose the lot in about 5 minutes... And spend the 6 months wondering why you can win anymore.. Every Full house you play gets busted and walks into 4 of a kind on river... Every straight runs into a flush. Every Flush runs into a Full House... You get mad and play more aggressive so people dont river you... Except you get ReRaised... The game can turn ugly fast... But I got my game in order now and its worth the journey of pain ive been through. Double income here I come :D

It is a fair comment. The truth is there are no controls in place. The saving grace is that these operations are businesses, any unscrupulous poker site will be found out, and go out of business. Overnight if any unfair play was actually proven. On the topic of being able to see all the cards on the table, it is as far as im aware for all the major sites, practically impossible. This is because data packets are only sent on a need to know basis, because your computer does not need to know, and the information is not accessible, it just isnt there. The only way this is ever possible is via players colluding with several cheating players on the same table and/or using software called WinHoldem which is categorically banned from all online poker sites.

Politicians never cease to amaze me with their stupidity and arrogance. This legislation seriously annoys many people not just in the USA but across the world. Well the USA is about to find out that it cannot govern the internet. I think this legislation is farcical, and will end up in international courts. It will get nasty. When billions of pounds are at stake, as they are here, you can be sure of a backlash. I smell trouble :^)

Have any poker playing developers got anywhere with online screen scraping methods to read card / bot / player position from poker rooms? I want to write a semi auto super system - which gives me playing tips while i play - based on my own rules and poker thinking. but screen scraping, I got no idea where to start, it sounds extremely ugly and unreliable. Anyone that has got somewhere in this area I love to hear from

Looking for help with screen scraping online poker sites (preferably pokerroom.com) in order to build a program which can assist with poker making decisions. I need pointing in the right direction, preferably in C++ but whatever you have is going to be helpful. The main obstacle for starters is reading the information from the screen such as pot amounts, player position, hole cards and board cards, etc. I really need to know how to go about it, any other poker playing developers who have made progress in this area please get in touch. It's this very attitude of the great U S of bloody A, that really gets on the tits of every other nation on earth (well especially us brits). i.e this idea that America is the centre of the Universe, the sun revolves around america. That any american champions in a 2 bit sport that the only the americans play seriously e.g. baseball (or should I say rounders), are automatically dubbed 'WORLD champions'.... the 'World Series....blah blah'. Then they have the audacity to ignore the world's greatest game played by every other nation on earth with a passion, and not only that they rename it 'soccer', so that it doesnt CONFUSE their people with that amazingly witless game they play in pathetic costumes. God it makes me puke. This same attitude is the one responsible for crappy forms which only show American states, and zip codes.
