Hey all, I just recently started working for Cerner Corp. in Kansas City, MO and was just wondering if any Cerner associates are active CPians. BTW, I'm not as active as I used to be (I'm a DBA on AIX and VMS systems now so I don't get to do much windows programming), just thought it would be cool if there were other CPians out there that work for Cerner.:) Brad Jennings

That sort of peer pressure is ineffective on me. It just pisses me off. If they want to make people feel bad for not donating, they can suck it IMO. Brad Jennings Sonork: 100.36360 AIM: hongg99

I hadn't heard about that one, that's pretty funny. Another good one that I saw was one where a guy was selling an almost square piece of cardboard. I think it must have been the side out of a washing machine box. Brad Jennings Sonork: 100.36360 AIM: hongg99

I grew up in a wooded area, about 10 miles from any populated area, so I've always enjoyed pretty much anything to do with wildlife. My parent put bird seed out and stuff for the smaller animals like squirrels and chipmunks so we always had wild animals around. Living in the city now, I kindof miss the wildlife. I've ran across that site a couple of times before. It's pretty funny to see the new ridiculously insane stuff he's writing about. The ones where he makes fun of children's artwork are hilarious.:) Brad Jennings Sonork: 100.36360 AIM: hongg99

Dang, wild turkeys won't usually come so close to a person's home. That reminds me of the time a couple of deer wandered up into our yard. We very quietly moved out to the front deck and watched them until they caught wind of us and ran away. They couldn't have been more than 30 meters away. Doesn't really have a whole lot to do with turkey sex but it's probably one of the most interesting encounters with wild animals that I've had. Brad Jennings Sonork: 100.36360 AIM: hongg99

I can't find a link to it but my favorite one of all time was titled "Cute Girl for Sale". It had a picture and a short description of her and how much it would cost for her to ship herself (basically how much in gas). Yes, she was indeed cute. Brad Jennings Sonork: 100.36360 AIM: hongg99

ColinDavies wrote: Don't use a lower octane than your vehicle requires. But you can use a higher one, however it's unlikely to give benefits just cost more. I totally agree, using a lower octane fuel than your vehicle calls for can make it run like crap (and eventually damage your fuel injection system, if it has one). My vehicle calls for 93 octane and I ran 87 in it once or twice before I noticed, and it ran kindof crappy. It's disheartening to see how much more the higher octane fuel is at the pump but is definitely worth it in the long run IMO. Brad Jennings Sonork: 100.36360 AIM: hongg99

ColinDavies wrote: I think a big problem is that you have to take the fuel type into account. Definitely. I see a lot of people posting prices for 95+ octane and I've never seen above 93 octane at the pump here in the US. I have seen one place that sells 114 octane racing fuel but no street legal vehicle can run it (at least not well anyway). Brad Jennings Sonork: 100.36360 AIM: hongg99
