count me in as an owner... I have a Win 10 Lumina 950 and a Band 2... had the Nokia 1020 before this. LOVED that phone! with today's announcement that the band is killed, I am really feeling like an orphan. looks like it just a matter of time for the phone. it's really a shame the phone is so much better than the competition, but the lack of good apps will kill it. :( Did you know there were more features of the Band supported on Apple and Android devices than on the Windows Phones? (like meal tracking for one) It seems M$ only makes a half hearted attempt whenever they try something new. :doh:

yep, I have one that was retired at our office years ago... still works, have the box, all the docs, and a dozen or so disks.

try recovering data from a 21Mb 3.5" floptical...

just do as my wife does... put EVERYTHING on the desktop.

it is always good to suspect that changes to software are possible causes. you should have stated that up front. i am not familiar with that software, so i won't comment on it, other than to say that you may want to try uninstalling it... that being said, i have an Acer laptop with its screen and two other monitors attached (for a total of three). the third is connected using a Toshiba USB universal docking station. occasionally i have to cycle power on the dock or cycle the plug before Win 8 sees it, especially re-awakening from sleep when the dock was not connected. when i originally installed the dock, i had to click detect before it showed up at all.

the minimum I can work on is modeled by my current laptop. It has 750 GB... I have it partitioned 200 and 550 I need 90 GB for my tools I need 100 GB for virtual machines the rest is almost full! (90% work related) my new laptop, should be delivered Wed) has a 1TB hybrid drive. Can't wait!!! :-D

I have really mixed feelings about it... I really like Win 7, even with the changes that made a few things more difficult (security). I have a Windows phone and love it, so I was really looking forward to Win 8. I have a home built Media Machine for my auto. It uses a 7" touch screen 1024x768 resolution. My media machine currently uses XP and will probably be using XP until it dies of old age. Here's why... I installed a fresh drive and Win 8 Release Preview. After some playing I was able to get the touch screen drivers to work, kind of. I realize this is the fault of the screen and/or driver, but gestures don't work. The screen is so small that trying to do anything with your finger other than launching an app on the metro screen is impossible: the scroll bar at the bottom of the metro screen is very difficult and getting the cursor into either hot-spot cannot be done. So I tried using it with a stylus, which won't work well in a vehicle by the way (think bumpy road). The scroll bar can be used, but I still can't get to the left-hotspot. For this application, Win 8 will not work at all, unless I 'hide windows' with an all encompassing user application. Then it doesn't matter what the OS is. Before removing the Win 8 drive and replacing it with the original XP drive, I tested it with a desktop monitor, keyboard and trackball. It took a little getting used to, which I expected. The extra clicks to do some things when using the desktop is annoying. other than that I liked the desktop experience. I have no opinion on using it on a tablet because i haven't tried it. My 2 cents.
