I can't say I have many fond memories of the languages I subsequently worked with: Fortran, Coral and Pascal. It was only when I got to use C, fairly late in my career, that I started to feel at home.

My 'first' was BASIC and no, I don't.

I missed it when it was dropped for C++ in VS2010 and am glad it's back in VS2012. I find it most useful for stuff I'm just learning, for stuff I'm very familiar with I find it easy to just type the whole thing.
