  • Image Processing Library.
    C Chris Byrne

I am looking for an image processing library. As well as basic processing like brightness and contrast, I need functions things like; red eye removal and one click improve. I have read Christian’s “Image Processing for Dummies article” which was a great help. I realise that I could code a lot of the basic stuff my self, quite quickly, but I don’t really have the time. I have already looked at things like ImageMagick, but wondered what else there is out there and if people have any recommendations. The library does not have to be free, performance and quality is critical. Cheers!

  • Windows XP on Intel iMac: confirmed
    C Chris Byrne

That’s too bad. If I didn’t earn a living coding for windows I might make the full switch. Its not that OSX is perfect, far from it, but the fact it’s different from windows and comparable in terms of functionality. Makes home computer use fun!

  • Windows XP on Intel iMac: confirmed
    C Chris Byrne

I code on windows all day and then use a Mac at home, just because it’s nicer (its not work!). But to be able to boot the Mac into windows would be great. I can still keep work and home separate, but if I have to I could boot my Mac to windows and finish things off at home. Posted from a power book…

  • Apple or Not?

That does not really bother me too much. OS X is still going to be a different operating system, with the same benefits and limitations as it has now. I am interested to hear from PC users who have made the switch OS X. What do people think?

  • Apple or Not?
    C Chris Byrne

I am looking to buy a laptop. It will be mostly used to surf the web, check emails, write reports and link with my camera and iPod. I won’t need to use it to write code as I have a Dell Laptop for work and a decent PC desktop at home. (However it will need to work with my existing wireless home network). I was thinking of getting an iBook / Power Book, basically because they look cool and I think as a programmer it would be useful to try something different. What are people’s thoughts / experience with apple note books? And what are good PC alternatives? Thanks Chris
