Well I lived here all my life, and I would show you around, but I am moving to Redmond! Anyways, here is a vegas natives ideas... At night, see the fountains at the Bellagio, other people have said this and it is definitely true. Cruise the Vegas strip at night, preferably in a convertible. See the white tigers and gardens at the Mirage. Also take the other guys advice and go see Mystere, or Siegfried and Roy, or Blue Man Group. Danny Gans is really good too. Go to some clubs. I like Studio 54, also if you want to go all night there is the after hours club at the Barbary Coast called Drais or Seven on the strip (neither of which really get started till about 2 in the morning). If you are a trek geek, go to the Hilton and check out the Star Trek experience. Dont bother with Fremont Street, unless you are into bums and prostitutes, the light show is not worth it. But if you like pool and midnight cosmic bowling and games, Jillians down there is fun but expensive. Got to Red Rock and hike during the day if you are up for it. Well those are some suggestions, have fun! Cleve Littlefield Senior Developer Visual Office (well, Microsoft next week...)

huge choice (long)...Well there is a good change that I will be offered a job contracting with Microsoft. This is a very big choice for me and I was wondering if some of the code project members had any advice... Currently I am a partner in a small business that creates software for doctors. I own 25% of the company, I am basically the boss (I have 3 employees), and I make my own hours. Because of my partner status, my salary is not very high, just enough to get by until the company does well. My partner puts up all cash to keep the company running and has done so for some time. Problem is the company has not made money, and we have been at it for 7 years. We have a great product and we are working on a new version that might turn things around. But doctors are fickle and cheap and dont want to spend money on software, they are scared of it. It is a tough market. So for 7 years I have been working for next to nothing compared to my skills set. Also sometimes me and my partner have arguements, sometimes he feels since he is putting up the money I am basically an employee with incentive. So MS is offering about 4 times my current salary. But I have to leave my current company(letting it die), leave my employees(they all have side work they can fall back on and probably even make more money), and move to Redmond. I would work more than I currently do, but I am not afraid of working. I may lose the ability to make my own hours, and I no longer work for myself. Anyone have any insight to this situation? What is it like working for MS? I would be working on projects that are keenly suited to my skills, and all new stuff like C#, Web services, etc.. Cleve Littlefield Senior Developer Visual Office

The WORST thing that could happen to BUSH...Paul Selormey wrote: Going to a dentist is a choice in the first place. You dont think most people under that regime would choose to get rid of Saddam if they could? They are repressed, kept ignorant, and tortured. They are afraid of Saddam, and the government is supported by the rich Baath party, not the people. In fact many Iraqi people (mostly Kurds) agreed to help us in the last Gulf war. The worst thing the UN and especially America did was abandon those people that Bush Sr promised help to if they help overthrow Saddam. If America is to feel guilty it is for that reason alone. Now we are returning to finally keep those promises, and once again we have their support. Cleve Littlefield Senior Developer Visual Office

cool web sites that affect your self esteem...WARNING These websites can significantly heighten or lower your self esteem... This website lets people vote on a picture of you, but you can also search for girls in your region and email them... nice feature I think, but you should be able to filter by score, like no girls below a 6... www.facethejury.com[^] And this one will tell you your value as a human being... www.humanforsale.com[^] Both fun sites I think! Best sourcecode databaseWhat is the best source code database out there in your opinion? I need something that runs off of a W2K server, and possible provides secure internet access. We use MS SourceSafe now, is it just me or does this product seem like it hasnt been updated in years? There must be something better. Cleve Littlefield Senior Developer Visual Office

American Taxes 101 (an analogy)One problem with your statement is that the current state of democracy in not very indicative of society. Our beauracracy tends to leave old laws in place without needed change and new laws become inane and inneffective. Our welfare system was created during the great depression at a time of great need, and has been managed to the point of collapse. The people who need help do not get it while others who are just lazy ruin the system. And even those who need help are not totally without blame, like a single mother with multiple kids, she need to take responsibility for her actions and stop having children. Many people who are wealthy would have no problem giving money to a program that works but our current system doesnt. I had no vote into how our current system works, it was setup way before me, and changing the system takes a long time. Just look at social security, I guarantee you if I took the same money and invested it I would make way more than what social security will give me when I retire(if it still exists at all). But I am forced to put money into this hole because most people arent smart enough to save their money. Cleve Littlefield Senior Developer Visual Office
