It seems that life is anti-entropy. Whether it's an amoeba or a zebra, its always straining like hell against entropy to organize the physical world to perpetuate itself. It seems that if life figures out how to sweep across the universe faster than entropy, life could theoretically get the upper hand. If entropy winning is an ever expanding universe, getting lonelier and lonelier, what is life winning? Puppies, kittens & everyone singing Kum ba yah? Alas, it seems that either to the exclusion of the other is universal demise. With a universal balance between entropy and life, there could exist simultaneously pockets of chaos and clusters of kittens. Maybe equilibrium between them should be our hope?

Self Winding Universe? -
An age test???Yea, well, that's nothin'. Back in my day, before the 1 was discovered, we had to write all our programs using only 0s!! :-O

The joys of being "the computer guy" (rant)I shut-down my family’s access to my 'computer guy' abilities when I was about your age (10 years ago). For me, it came-down to basic human consideration (or lack thereof). I had a strong desire to be kind, help, and do so without expecting anything in return. What I accomplished was to communicate that I exist to help them with their computer problems... Any problem, any time, regardless of what was happening in my life. I was expected to accommodate them without cognition (apparently by either of us) that I too needed basic consideration. I didn’t realize that I did have a price: Consideration for me, and my need for them to attempt to learn (however much they were capable) to fend for themselves… Yet, they always wanted me to bring them a "fish", and I needed to see them desire to learn to fish themselves, even if they could only catch a bluegill, and I always brought them tuna steaks. I resigned when I literally was told that I was supposed to help them whenever they asked. It is up to each of us to decide how much we allow others to disrespect our time. I found my limit. I recommend dealing with it effectively before it can harm you & your relations.

How to politely tell someone I'm actually busyMy spidey sense it tingling, and it tells me that you are averse to conflict. If so, you may be getting in your own way... A straight forward way to address this is to state your feelings, without ambiguity. Be sure to include any empathetic feelings you have for them, and validate their position as much as you can. Then, gain & maintain credibility on this issue by disallowing satisfaction for them in the future each time that they are discourteous to the feelings you made clear. I know, it's easier said than done...

Your opinion: Steve Jobs or Bill GatesGates because he could program, and so valued software... built a ~Bliinndingly! Successful business around faith in it, and the value it can create. Jobs sold hardware. Software was a means to that end for him, not the end. I always hated how closed and controlling Apple was/is. It's too arrogant of a position for my tastes.

Suggestions for graphing software...I found ZedGraph maybe 10 years ago, and have driven it with C# for countless graphing needs since then.
