First Be Carefull, u can use both of them but there is exceptions. SELECT * FROM TABLE1 WHERE TABLE1.SOMECOLUMN = (SELECT SOMEOTHERCOLUMN FROM TABLE2 WHERE SOMEOTHERCOLUMN = SOMEVALUE) command is TRUE but "SELECT SOMEOTHERCOLUMN FROM TABLE2 WHERE SOMEOTHERCOLUMN = SOMEVALUE" will be produce JUST ONE RESULT, NOT MORE. So to use any aggregation Function in this case is more true. For Example; USE NORTHWIND select * from Orders where CustomerID =(select MAX(CustomerID) from Customers) In this case, not just (=) equals sign, Also u cant use (=!,>,<,>=,<=,LIKE) But some times we get more result from 2nd command.In this case u have to use IN keyword. For Example, U need Orders information belongs to Customers in London. if u execute "SELECT * FROM Customers WHERE City ='London'" u see 6 records. then write command for our first aim : USE NORTHWIND select * from Orders where CustomerID IN (select CustomerID from Customers WHERE City='London') I hope u got what u need. So u can get a result set that contains six different customers' Orders Informations.

Gee, why do I think you're talking about me? :) Read through the table of contents for the Class Library[^] to get a feel and look at random class names. You should notice a pattern. The other day a colleague needed a dictionary to store strings and mentioned he couldn't find one so he wrote his own. Think "string", "dictionary", and put them together how the BCL commonly does it: StringDictionary. Type it in the index and...viola'...you find a class. Definitely browsing the TOC can help at least enlighten you to what classes are available and the names are most often self-explanitory. Everyone learns differently. For me, I have to write real applet/application. The contrived examples in almost all books help with some concepts, but all too often aren't directly applicable to an actual program that does something. I almost never even install the sample code included with most books, let alone actually use it. I also maintain several test projects (both console and forms) to test specific concepts. Even if sample code exists, I still prefer writing it myself (not just copying from the book). I then step through the code to really understand what it's doing. In short, I have found that for me, nothing beats hands on experimenting with code destined for real use. Thankfully in this industry it is possible to gain experience off your own back; you can learn languages, you can take on consultancy or contract work, etc. IMO that shows a better attitude to potential employers than people who's only experience is work-gained.
