Yeah, Go for C#, I`m 13 and am really enjoying it. Start with Console -> Windows Application -> XNA (if he likes games) then... Well see what he wants to do from there. My father tried to get me doing it at 11. He kept pushing me to do ASP .NET and Share Point but I wasn`t interested, then I came back when I was twelve or so and re-read (that was really boring) a few c-sharp books then Riemers XNA Tutorials (The Matrix stuff may mess with his head - it sure did for me :-D ).
