GoDaddy has gone downhill in my opinion. I have found NameCheap.com to be a useful, vanilla, domain registrar. I have used them for years with no problems.

Is VS 2022 ready for prime time?We have been using it since the production release without any issues. You may have more issues moving to the new .net version than with VS itself. We are staying on .Net 4.8 with VS2022 for our desktop app, but we moved to .NET 6 for the Blazor app. No issues for us in either case.

How primitive am I?I find it handy for a few things, like having it turn on the TV when my hands are full. I actually used it a few days ago to reorder something (popcorn, a necessity in our house) that I kept forgetting to order. It's also good at math when I can't find the calculator or I am too lazy to pick it up. But mostly it just sits there, unless I need a good fart sound...

I need more screen real estate! This works for me. I keep email and Teams open on one, most of my work is on the bottom two. I use the top ones for things I need to reference quickly, such as table layouts. Multi-screen Remote Desktop?Try Teamviewer. I think it is still free for personal use, and if the remote machine has multiple monitors, there is a handy button at the top to switch between them. You can also choose to display them separately if your host also has multiple monitors.

Seeking Advice for a late in life career change to programmingHey Kevin, I'll echo a few of the previous comments. Ageism is rampant in IT. Most large companies are looking for younger talent. But all is not lost, I think you need to change your focus. I started with with the programs you learned, working on mainframes, then transitioning many times to different platforms. I am currently working on a C#/Blazor application. I think you will find breaking into "modern" application development will be difficult, but, there is another sector that pays very well, and is desperate for new talent.... Cobol. Banks and large organizations are trying to break free, but Cobol programmers are literally dying off. Younger people aren't interested, but it might be perfect for you. Mark

Old age?Clarion... Now that's a name I have not heard in a long time... I used it for many years, not that template stuff, but real coding. It really wasn't that bad.

Software Developer Insurance/Bonding?I think your biggest concern may be data. If you download/store any data on your computers that contains sensitive information and that data gets out, you are really in trouble. Best advice, don't download any live data. I had a friend that stored a backup of a customers data on a USB drive, the same one with his music, and he lost it. THAT cost not only money, but the customer as well. We still don't know if that will surface in the future. A good umbrella policy is always a good idea...

Drastic Measures - Blocking all Chinese requestsOk, now you guys have me worried. I am not that familiar with all these techniques used to gain access. I have a Small Business Server in the home office open for remote access (File Sharing and RDP) and ports on my main machine open for RDP. What should I be monitoring to catch anyone trying to hack in? Can you point me to a good thread or resource with more information so I can rest a little easier? Thanks!

Google Maps adds real time traffic dataJust out of curiosity, Does anyone know how Google gets this information? Here in Raleigh, NC we have a company that monitors the traffic and provides traffic reporters to all the radio stations. Do they or companies like them provide the info? I am really curious how accurate it is. Mark "If you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted (or work on something new). Comment that Code! "
