"Cloud computing" make me cringe. -
Does anybody 'Hide extensions for known file types'?How could more information add to the confusion? It is like giving someone the name of a street but hiding the house number. Sure you could find the house eventually by knocking on every door and seeing if the right person answers.

Kung Fu vs MuscleSlap maybe too harsh a word. I don't hit them to hurt, just a light touch to bring home the point that they are saying something imcredibly stupid. In thirty-five years of training I have never had to hurt anyone with my training. The confidence that I have gained has always allowed me to talk my way out of a fight or just walk away. And don't get me wrong, if I were put in a situation where I was fighting for a loved one's life or my own, I would willing use the advantage of a gun to win, if I had one (and I do own one). Even if caring a concealed weapon, there are many situations I could think of where you would not have time to pull it out in time to defend yourself. My point was that no one always has their gun in hand in every situation. Where as martial arts training is with you at ALL times. No one was ever arrested for presenting a calm, confident demeanor in a bad situation. And often times, that display is all that it takes to AVOID a fight.

Kung Fu vs MuscleI have studied martial arts for thirty-five years. Every now and then somebody allways comes up with the statement that they "would just shoot" me. I like to reach over and slap them and then ask why they didn't shoot me to stop me. This isn't the wild west. Most people DO NOT carry guns with them in public. Doing so gets you thrown in jail. Even waving a gun around in public can get you shot by the police, if they think you are threatening someone's life. A gun has a limited amount of ammunition and must be in your hand (not locked safely away in a gun safe where it is supposed to be most of the time) to be of any value. Martial arts training is always with you. It also teaches you how to think your way out of a fight without having to resort to violence. A gun does ONE thing. It kills. Once you pull the trigger you are commited to taking someone's life. What would you do if a buddy (drunk on a few too many of those beers you seem so fond of) decides to take a swing at you. Are you going to shoot him. Martial arts training can subdue, stun or kill. A gun can also be taken away from you and turn against you, especially if you are drinking beer and handling a gun. Something about as smart as drinking and driving. As a last thought, if you have brought a gun to a fight, chances are so has the other guy.

Disabling mouse WheelDoes anyone know how to disable that damn mouse wheel? So many programs use it for really annoying stuff (Like Corel X3 where if you bump the wheel it zooms the picture out so far that it is nothing but a dot). I don't want to use it for scrolling, zooming or anything. I just want to turn it off. Or do I have to rip it out with a pair of pliers to shut it down?

Highlighting items in listbox when mouse moves over themI knew there had to be a simple way to do it, and after seeing this I feel embrassed that I didn't think to try that myself. Thank you very much. Gary

Highlighting items in listbox when mouse moves over themIn a comboBox as you move the mouse across the list of items, the item under the mouse is highlighted (without clicking on it). How do you make a list box work the same way? Currently I display a different picture for each item in the listbox as the mouse moves over it, but without it higlighting as I move over it, it is sometimes difficult to tell which item I am drawing for. I have search the internet and several books for this but have not found anything related to this topic. Gary

Creating a Panel from with in a classI have a project where I have a lot of panels on my form. It gets to be a hassel moving them front/back to edit them. Is there a way to encase the panel in a class, so I can just make it visible or invisible from class calls and not have to have it cluttering up my form during normal editing. For example, I have a color picker panel which includes a listbox of all the color names and a picture box that I use to display the color and its name (using graphics). I can see where I could use this in several projects and don't want to have to recreate it everytime. Gary Strunk
