Here is something that (probably) will help you a bit more than some (not necessarily relevant) previous answer How To Install Visual Basic 6 (VB6) in Windows 10[^] You may also want to refer to this video, which provides an alternative method for a successful installation on Windows 11. How to install Visual Basic 6.0 on Windows 11 - YouTube[^] I have personally installed VB6 on Windows 10 and Windows 11 multiple times on a variety of machines, for a variety of purposes. And while it may not be a straightforward process, it can be done with minimal effort. Hope this helps.

Can recommend TermiteNot sure how to read and/or interpret your sentence... but for sure... the English term "termite" translates into the Italian term "termite". They are pronounced differently, but the two words refer precisely to the very same thing - an insect...

API KeysDon't worry too much about people telling you that VB6 is outdated, dead, or both. There are millions and millions and millions lines of VB6 code out there, keeping companies running and being profitable. And if you have VB6 skills, you definitely have employment and earnings opportunities for many years to come. I should know: I am quickly approaching my 70th birthday, I am retired, and still bring home quite a bit of bacon by free-lancing, carefully selecting what I want from a ridiculous number of offers/requests. Oh... when someone tells you that VB6 is outdated, dead, or both... just remind them of COBOL... :) And to come back to your question: yes, VB6 can be used to interact with many API. Depending on the API, you will use different tools and/or techniques. Sometimes it will be more difficult than using other, more modern languages. In other cases, strangely, it will be easier. Go figure. Good luck with your project!

Would you choose C#...I am curious as to why you do not consider VB a "real language". That is like saying that - for example - German or Italian or Swahili or Punjabi are not real languages. I am actually and currently fluent in five different spoken languages -- and yet it would never occur to me that a language I do not speak or use is not a "real language". Point is: let's all stop making these silly arguments about a programming language or the other. Statements of that kind they only serve to reveal an elitist approach or a deep misunderstanding of the language's purpose. Plenty of excellent and successful developers grew up with Basic, Visual Basic, VB.NET... only to transition to other languages because of many different reasons... just NOT because those languages are not "real languages". I wonder what would you even say about ASM... :) Just my two cents.

After years of working... how do you keep track of your small tips and manuals of things you already done?Jumping in only to point out that Microsoft OneNote is free and does not require any "subscription" whatsoever. True, a Microsoft account is needed - but that is all. OneNote for Windows and OneNote can be installed side by side. See here: https://i.imgur.com/pGElovQ.png[^] OneNote for Microsoft 365 can be obtained here: Download OneNote[^] Just my two cents.

How can I get an free installer that registers .dll and .ocx components as I install my app?Just seen the original post and the only, completely useless reply. In my opinion and experience, the best free installer can be found here: Inno Setup[^] I have used the software with great success in any number of situations and for many different products. It just requires a bit of reading of the very extensive documentation. Help is readily available. Hope you find this answers your question and needs.

Why IE is a dog today and every other day....Here is one striking thought that just crossed my mind… If 85% percent of users are still relying on (and possibly even like) Internet Explorer… so what are the “standards” we should strive for…?
