Yes, it's hard to make good UI widgets/controls. That's why you don't make the controls yourself but use some UI library/framework to build your web apps. You can use DevExtreme, Kendo UI, webix, Ionic, Sencha ExtJS and many other advanced UI toolkits. Also, when you are creating Winforms/WPF or any other .Net UI framework apps, you don't usually build your own basic UI widgets, but use built-in stuff plus some 3rd party framework (DevExpress?).

"A web page is very rarely the best UI" Web page can be any UI you need it to be. The problem is web app designer, not the web technology itself.

Well, it also has much better support for TypeScript and Angular than Visual Studio Code. For minor typo fixes Notepad++ might be fine, but if you need any real work done you should always fire-up full fledged IDE like Rider or Visual Studio.

Try JetBrains Rider. It's much better than Visual Studio.

Talking about IBM 5100, have you seen "Compaq Portable 1" restoration videos made by 8-bit guy? One of the hardest restoration projects he has done yet. Going back on topic, 3D printer is a really cool relatively recent invention. Even they are not as significant like the other things mentioned here, I think it's pretty amazing to see your computer generated 3d model come to life. What do you think? Do you think 3D printers could become big deal in a few years and even reach general consumer market?
