I think having the ViewState Enabled for ur control should solve this problem try having the EnableViewState=true in ur FormView or save that record in the session and take it back on return I hope it helps Rocky You can't climb up a ladder with your hands in your pockets.

I thought MSDN says that a formview control is a by-definition-data-control and not an auto-generate-columns control. If you haven't created Template fields for your controls, you might wanna do that first and leave the DataSource property until runtime where I suppose you can find the control and use it. If you want an auto-generated-columns control maybe you should try out the DetailsView Live in fragments no longer. Only connect.
