I appreciate the feedback but I had never used a Select within a Select and so not only did I not know what syntax was acceptable, I also didn't know where I could put the Selects. I have since found that I can place them almost anywhere I want. However, your example did show me a way to use a Select in a way I didn't know it could be done. That will be useful info for the future.

My first suggestion, if you are not dynamically setting that data on the labels, do not bother using the label control at all. It causes overhead without any benefit. I would just set them in standard HTML. Just because it is an ASPX page, does not mean that everything has to be built using the Web Server Controls, you can mix it with standard HTML. I use DIV's and SPAN's heavily to format a page. As for spacing, you can adjust that using "styles" or Cascading Style Sheets class to specify the font, line-height and padding to obtain spacing you would like. Rocky <>< My Blog[^]

I really appreciate all of the help and it gave me some good ideas which I was able to apply and solve my problem. For me, the key was removing the "phrases" from the string and placing them in their own array. First I counted the number of double quotes and divided by 2. That gave me the number of "phrases" I had in the string. Then I split the string using doublequotes as the delimiter, but I did this one at a time and then removed the "phrase" from the original string, placed it in an array and then split the string again. Hi there, You can get the thumbnail of an image using the Image.GetThumbnailImage Method[^]. However, you don't need to create and add the thumbnail to a dataset and you can deplay it until the data is bound to the datagrid control. In an ASP.NET application, you basically use an image control to display the image, and you either set the path of the static image in the image control or use a seperate web page .aspx that is responsible for generating the image/thumbnail on the fly. So in this case, you may have two options here: + Create and save the thumbnails to disk, you only need to store of the paths of the thumbnails in the dataset, then bind it to the grid. + You only store the path of the image files, not the thumbnail, in the dataset, and use a seperate web page (or a custom http handler) to generate the thumbnails on the fly. Thank you for your response. I had already been trying to use the .format member but with the way I was coding the columns it would not work. I would get an error telling me it was not a member of that object. I finally tried a different way of coding for the columns (similar to yours) but I had to make other additional changes and I finally got it to work. I appreciate your help. You made me rethink how I was approaching the column coding.

I figured it out myself and I thought I would put the answer onto this forum in case anyone else might need to do the same thing. This code did the trick but I had to make a couple of changes because I was using an ODBC driver for MySql and not a native driver and I would get an error when I tried to use the FILESIZE argument.
