Hi, I will definitely look into classes in php as this will simplify a lot of the mechanics. Going back to a previous point about strings, basically I haven't seen that the return/enter key has any effect on processing. It seems to view it the same way whether it is line separated or not. Maybe on some systems it does but I haven't seen any evidence of it on this server. Thanks, Jeff

Hi, Again, thanks for your replies. It's a minor miracle, but at least the system is recognizing the namespace. I'm not sure what has changed since numerous times I tried different combinations of Excel Object refs and Office Object Library refs (earlier/later versions).Nothing seemed to work. I tried one last time by deleting as many refs as possible and referencing only Excel 11.0 Objects. Suddenly it worked. I'm saving this as-is and will experiment later to see if I can replicate the bug. Thanks, Jeff

As I understand it, the actual drawing occurs here: protected void panelPaintHandler(object sender, PaintEventArgs e) { Graphics g=e.Graphics; if (paintRectFlag) g.DrawRectangle(rectPen, rect); Which draws to a panel, which I'm assuming is a sort of generalized/abstract screen object. Presumably this would be rendered according to the needs of some Form (or other) object when invoked? So if you (were to) run this, would it draw a rectangle? Or do you need additional code to make it "work"? Thanks, Jeff
