The problem I have with MVVM is it is very difficult to implement multiple usercontrols on the same form. I like to have my ribbonbar as one user control, a sidepanel treeview control as another usercontrol, a tabcontrol as another usercontrol, and a statusbar of course as another usercontrol. I generally have a mainform that I place these on using and etc. I've tried using caliburn micro to no avail as it will not display my controls even if I have no errors.

I tried several variants of using the string concatenation += operator, stringbuilder, and arrays of characters. I expected an array of character approach to be best, but every approach I tried was slightly outperformed by the stringbuilder-based method I posted. I didn't bother using RegEx, as I expected its overhead costs to eliminate itself here, but I could be wrong.

Funny you should mention that. I'm forced to do just that. Why? Because Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager software uses the old MIF file format for importing hardware and software inventory into the SCCM database. Well, if you have a field in a custom inventory item, say one that specified a true/false value, the MIF specification doesn't support Boolean types! So, "True/False" it is! that is the default testing technique used by millions of programmers. unless you have good dedicated programmers who really care about their code this unit testing BS will not yield any fruit...and the catch is if you have good programmers then very rarely they would need unit tests as they will write it right the first time. I deal with such programmers everyday they add 5 items to a list then check if the list has 5 items as if there was some leak in CLR.

We have found that with godaddy, if you're not providing your own server, or paying for a unique server, there's all sorts of issues when you want to move files of any reasonable size ( we have a 100MB video that shows people our product in action, in case you're wondering ). Their tech support people are also clueless and when you report an issue, they'll give you some technobabble that is frankly a pile of crap. But, if you want to just host some pages, then sure, they work fine, we still use them, we just went from sending our file in code, to users having to right click and save from a link. The Select method in DataTable is quite restricted. You cannot for example join tables, create hierarchical queries etc. I didn't quite understand why you have to loop or create intermediate results since you didn't include your actual data table usage. I'm guessing that it's because of those restrictions I mentioned. If that's the case, I'd suggest that when building the cached datatable, use the database server ability to execute complex queries and in the datatable store the information in simpler form. Since this is mostly for reading the data from the cache, denormalization is one way to make the data more easy to use. The need to optimize rises from a bad design.My articles[^]
