Metro UI seems like a big step back to me. Square corners, bland colors, and no shadows or 3D. It's not the UI I have come to expect and appreciate. What is the point of having big bright beautiful displays with high resolution if the UI looks like Metro? It feels like something that would have existed in the late '80s. I haven't used it yet so maybe I will feel differently after using it, but I can't say that I am excited about the prospect of using it.

Wow, writing software is hard :pNo kidding! Several years ago I cleared some trees and branches from our yard. I put them in front of our house for our garbage company to pickup. When I came home at the end of the day I was surprised to see my debris had not been picked up. I was even more surprised to see the debris strewn around the front of the yard, clearly not the way I left it for the garbage pickup. I always wondered what happened to my trees that day. Years later when I discovered the Google streetview, my mystery was solved. Some neighborhood kids had decided to make a fort out of it and play: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3500/4564029294_35749e5bbc_o.jpg[^] [I sure wish I could figure out how to embed an img tag in this post.] Can you imagine the luck? Someone just driving by taking pictures while you are up to no good. I was never even mad about it. If I could identify the kids, I would show it to them and their parents as a lark!

Why are the emailed links wrong?I have noticed for quite a while that when I get an email notification, the links are not correct. Oddly, they seem to take me to an error page that has a link to where I need to go. It seems odd that the email link doesn't take me right to the page. Here's an example. I received an email notification that contains this link: http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/LINQ_1.asp?msg=2031715#xx2031715xx[^] When I go there, it is a Page not Found error page, but has a link to the correct page. Odd. Also, in the email, there is the message "Do not hit 'reply' to this email: To reply, click here." When I click the link, it goes to the same error page. The emails I receive have been this way for as long as I can remember.
