  • JSON: How do you pronounce it?
    J John Bonfardeci

The "sequel" pronunciation was deemed obsolete in 1985-86 by ISO and ANSI since the Hawker-Sidley aircraft corporation trademarked SEQUEL for one of their planes. While the 2 pronunciations are acceptable, it's a more common tradition to refer to the language as "S-Q-L" while referring to the database server as "sequel server" - at least among my generation of programmers. Referring to the previous reply above about Jason Vorhees - I saw the original Friday 13th at a drive-in theater when I was a kid. I too was scared spitless, but no one, I mean no one I know pronounces it as "Jay-sawn"; that is just wrong. :)

The real trick is answering a question like that with one word. Syntax.

Are you sure it's not a USB to Mac serial adapter? They look just like a VGA hookup, same number of pins too. I had one for a pre-USB Mac modem for my ancient blue and white G3. Probably the strangest device I have is an adapter for connecting a non-standard Mac 10 base T port to a standard Cat 5 jack. It's about 2.5 inches wide 3 inches deep and about an inch thick.

Hi SAS25, I don't have experience selling downloadable products. However, in the admin site for a product, there are options available for setting a product up for download. There's a radio button for 'Downloadable' and a text field for the download location. It seems very straigtforward to set up, everything else sure is. I entered a test product myself for a downloadable file and it was easy. I can't verify that it automaticlally sends an email for the download, but with each purchase the customer gets an automatic email reciept. I'm pretty sure that for a downloadable product, the email will contain the download link and they login with their account. I would ask sales sales@aspdonetstorefront.com to be sure. I hope this helps. Good luck.

AspDotNetStorefront.com is a full storefront. I use them for all of my e-commerce sites. See http://moonmippyonline.com and http://gayefieldsjewelry.com. They're probably the best .Net storefront out there and they surely blow away any of the stupid PHP storefronts. Don't spend time reinventing the wheel by writing your own storefront, it wouldn't be as good anyway. when you could buy it for far less than your development time. Plus they're one of the few carts that are Visa compliant. That aspect is very important. They also work with just about any gateway and they supply the source code. You can sell just about any kind of product and/or service you can think of with it. They've spent years making it generic. Their support is awesome and they have a great community. If you submit a question, you're sure to get a reply by a member or the administrator with a solid answer.
