I came across this problem recently, and found the perfect solution use _variant_t wrapper class e.g. converting a long to a BSTR _variant_t vLongVal((long)100); vLongVal.ChangeType(VTV_BSTR); // now you can use the bstr, that the ChangeTypr has converted _bstr_t vBstrValue(vLongVal.valbstr); This can be applied to any type I hope this helps :cool:

Hmm... well, i've been gone from CP for a while, and the thing that strikes me the most is "Overload". While I love the way the forums work, I think it would be better if when you went into a forum, you saw the list of threads instead of each message in all threads. Then when you click on a thread, you can see all the messages in that thread just like we have today, but only the messages in that thread are listed. This makes it easier to ignore threads i'm not interested in following (like Socc.. er i mean football threads ;) ) When you're gone for a few weeks, trying to catch up becomes "Overload".

This is another issue. I've found that managers tend not to hire female programmers because they expect their programmers to not have lives, and women (more so than men) are much more family oriented. I think most managers will believe that a woman will tend to take more time off for sick children, not work overtime because they need to be home for the children, or of course take months off for maternity leave when they get pregnant, then coming back with skills that are rusted and out of date. Now, I don't agree with that, i'm simply saying that this is my perception of what managers think.
