Hi, A colleague and I came across this same problem and made a control derived from TableLayoutPanel, implementing the MouseDown, MouseMove and MouseUp events. It works reasonably well, except for designer support - we have to add all the controls via code. Their is no need to picture draw the text vertically.

I have a quickbooks database that I need to replicate into sql server. The quickbooks database I have an ODBC connection to. But inorder to port the data from quickbook to sql server I have to generate the tables in sql server as they are in the quickbooks database. Then I can port the data from quickbooks to sql Server. SQL Server has no odbc connection to quickbooks otherwise I agree with you. I don't know of any that are "dual mode" (to make up a word). I think you're going to have to have two different libraries in your installed, one 32-bit, the other 64, and install which ever one is appropriate for the platform in question. Access will be pretty simple, I will be astonished if Quickbooks publish their schema or allow you to query their system tables. As for cobol X| I'm not sure cobol even has the metadata to query! Never underestimate the power of human stupidity RAH
