That depends, the Republic of Ireland has a smoking ban in workplaces and bars. Scotland is getting one too, soon the whole UK will have legislation banning smoking in public places. Maybe the rest of Europe will follow along if the EU health dudes get their fingers out.

Co-ffee? Seriously, Tea is all you ever need. I was once hooked on Coffee, it made me a bad person. Tea made me great again. There is nothing like going into work with a thermos of Earl Grey. Mmmm

Gore-Tex all-weather superjacket. Umbrellas irritate me, especially when short people walk down the street on a narrow pavement with them.

Actually the word (and derivatives) 'skiving' is still used up here in Liverpool. 'Slacker' is more a southern thing.

The Dashboard weather widget is useful to me. It gives a 5-day forcast, plus I can have both the Liverpool and London weather open. So I can gloat to my parents about how good the London microclimate can be :-)

kgaddy wrote: I believe he was trying to take a swing at the US. I was also 'taking a swing' at our country and many other western nations as well. Neither of them have a true democracy. They both try their best, but neither get it quite right, hence 'pseudo'. What is democracy when our government was elected by only 30-40% of the population, hence 60% of the country not being represented by them? I know this isn't going to change for a long time because it gives the government power, but it doesn't mean it's the right way to run a 'democratic' country.
