I put it off as long as I could but the time to finally get a laptop has come as I will soon be on the road for a while. I have been putting this off for so long mostly because I like working with 2 24" screens. The only unusual thing I need is good CUDA support. If you have any recommendations I would love to hear them.

Hi, Under setting I noticed that Technical blogs was unchecked so I checked it. The result was that my reputation was reduced by 150 points. Three "Newsletter opt-in (undo)" appeared under my repitation history all at 20 Jan 2011 1:08 AM. I am sure that something is wrong here. I tried unchecking ot to see if that would reverse this odd process but it had no effect. Thanks

Physics was my main area of study at University and graduate school, though I now write software. This is my main understanding of the fusion scene. We have been failing in this area for quite a number of years. I believe that the main reason for this is that the base equipment used for fusion has not been up to the level needed. This applies to both of the major research areas. The first strategy is usually referred to as magnetic confinement. In this case the plasma (hydrogen ) is held in a magnetic field and then heated until the combination of magnetic pressure and temperature reach fusion levels. There are two big problems. The computations to needed to adjust the magnetic fields are complex and need to be done very quickly, but computers are improving at a fast enough rate that I would not worry about that. The second problem is that the magnets need to be superconducting in order to be powerful enough. Bad magnets are the big problem. However I recently read the following encouraging article Pseudogap' phase research could be key to room-temperature superconductivity. If this research pans out then magnetic confinement has a much greater possibility of success. The other method is referred to as inertial confinement. Basically a lot of lasers are focused on a small pellet of hydrogen. It gets zapped and fusion occurs before it gets a chance to expand. The main problem is the poor quality of lasers. The tip looks very interesting. Do you have performance data? Is it faster than sending xml and ripping it upon arrival. I've found that perfomance for things like an order and its order details is great when they are submitted as an xml doc. Does your method add items one at a time or do the equivalent of creating an in memory table an then performing an insert select statement. Ken

Indeed so sad, My dealings with the xml datatype in tables have been painful. Hopefully you bill by the hour. Ken By the way the xml datatype as a parameter in a stored procedure is amazing, truely wicked fast for multi data entry.
