According to my intelligence, a measurement should be made for a purpose. May I know what could be the purpose of measuring my intelligence? I am afraid I can’t find any which could be useful to me. (1) I have never looked for a paid job (salary). (2) I had the chance to create, since long, my private business with a starting capital of about $100. (3) I had never the intention to show up as being more intelligent than anyone I met in my long life. (4) No one can convince me that he is more intelligent than I because anytime I can’t answer one of his questions; he will find himself not being able answering 10 of my questions in return :) Conclusion? People who cannot work independently should present, in a way or another, something that shows/proves what they have as abilities much like a specialized computer is checked out if it is good or not for one job in the least. Therefore, in real life, there is no need to measure intelligence from all possible angles unless it is done for fun. Have Fun :) Added: I wonder to which extent the following is true: Any job that any machine cannot do needs the human intelligence. Therefore intelligence evolves otherwise there would be no difference between the human race and their machines... someday in the future :)

Is There One Intelligence and Can it be Measured? -
A discussion on life (Scientific, not philosophical)Logically speaking, there should be a sort of life as ours in many parts of the universe; far from our dear tiny planet we called Earth. But when, in the name of science, some will say that life is discovered somewhere in the vast space, it will be looked like another religion to be believed in. To be honest... to me... believing in what a religious, philosophical or scientist group says is the same practically speaking, if not based on one's independent reasoning. Because actually and most of the time, it is based on faith as long the discovery cannot be checked and even lived by the person himself (assuming he believes in his own logic and feelings more than of others). In real life, most people feel the need to belong to a group/society (though I don't). This is possible if they are able to show they share some basic beliefs which the founders have decided to be based on. So thanks to all those who talk in the name of a religion or science, via regional and/or international media, the majority of masses can be driven anytime to where they are supposed to go in every part in the world. And these days, with the continuous progress of hi-tech, this is achieved easier and faster than ever. By the way, did anyone here really understand what I wrote... I guess not though we are supposed to live on the same planet. We can imagine now what would be the case if we don't :) Kerim

TI calculator/Z80 HobbyUnlike all of you here I guess, being deprived to get genuine high language software, I had no choice but to write my every firmware (starting from Z80 up to IAP Flash MCUs like SST89E58RD) on a text editor. Lately I was fortunate to use "Crimson Editor" and its DOS shell to launch the command line of my very old TASM.exe. Before it, I was using, as a text editor, the last software package I had the right to buy which is the BorlandC 3.1 (which also helps me write DOS programs now to transfer data between PCs and my designed boards via COM or LPT... so now my customers need to drag and drop files on my DOS program icons to update their boards). In brief, you may say, the history of most of you is actually alive on our dear planet... Earth. Kerim

UK TaxWhen we will be able to write a list for an infinite series, there would be a chance to have a list for the taxes of a country.

DeathIn any case, what I am sure of is that... death just cannot be real to me in the least. Because... how would I know I am dead, even when others see my dead body!

CamelCase naming conventionAt least now, I learnt that the name of the notation that I always liked to use while on my isolated island and since about 30 years... is camelCase.

Programming: Intrinsic or TaughtBy combining: the love of solving tricky math problems (likely taught too), the knowledge of a language syntax (it needs good references), the ability to have the right tools/platform, ... the birth of a new bright self-taught programmer is natural. In my case, the 3rd factor has always limited my skills... but it is better than nothing. Kerim
