Citizen Kane is rated as one of the best films of all time by the American Film Institute, actually #1, but it has to be taken in context. What Citizen Kane did when it came out was unprecedented. Wikipedia has some info on it. But your right about it being boring these days. It is a piece of American movie history though. From your list, Requiem for a dream is a very unique and well done film. I'd recommend that one next, though it is not an uplifting film. Also not sure of what you have seen previously or have access to, The Godfather series is an excellent example of American film making as well as the recent film The Departed.

NRO Editors: Legislating ImmoralityI hate to jump into the middle of an discussion but the "will of the people" isn't a very good argument. We elect politicians whom we entrust to make the best decisions for their constituents/ area of governance. If the will of the people was law, we would live in a 100% democracy where every law was done by popular vote. But we in fact in the US have a democratic republic. Now for social precedence, if the will of the people were law, there never would have been desegregation of the schools or the allowance of mixed racial marriages among others.

What It Means To Be ChristianI don't think Obama is a "marxist". In fact McCain doesn't even think Obama is a socialist. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/29/larry.king.mccain.transcript/[^]
