There is a hardware forum but it seemed to me to be more like how to implement programs on certain hardware and other rather advanced hardware/sysAdmin questions not a what is a good sort of forum. Since you already mentioned signing the applet. 1. Figure out a command line tool that does this for you. This has nothing to do with java. 2. Use Runtime.exec or ProcessBuilder to run the command line. 3. Sign your applet.
