YES, you need to make sure you clode your datareaders, otherwise the SQL connections will remaind close and the connection pool will be the cause why your ASP.NET application dies. MAke sure in your program you are displaying the Debug errors on the page Then the error should be something about the SQL or Access database instead of ASP.NET Cheers Al

I tried all different command names. I'm not declaring any button using "new" so I guess it's all in runtime.I tried to add the button in the design mode in VS and manually in the html code. No matter how I do it's just linkbutton that works. When I do it in design mode I tried the edittemplate tool and assigning commandname and onitemcommand etc via property window. When I use a linkbutton and place the cursor over the linkbutton I can read "javascript:_doPostBack......." in the IE status bar but not with a button. If I place a button outside the datalist the it works fine. Remember, none of these problems occur if I code in a texteditor instead of VS. Another bugg is that if I compile the project and I'm not in the desing window at that time then I can't open the property window without restarting VS. Can anyone help me?

Where do I find if aspnet_wp.exe process is running under the NETWORK SERVICE account? I checked the properties->security of C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_wp.exe and there no 'NETWORK SERVICE' there, just 'SERVICE' with read/run and read privileges. The folder to the denied file has all privileges and files in the folder inherit those privileges. I tried IIS->Application pool->properties->Identity and it says: Predefined: Network service. I don't know what more to do there.

Your request is timing out from your ASP.NET application. You need to specify a higher timeout. Take a look at the httpRuntime[^] element for your Web.config. In particular, pay close attention to the executionTimeout. ~Javier Lozano (blog)
