I've never understood that saying. Surely if you pay peanuts, you'd get elephants? Or drunken barfly's.

Windows 95 source code - Top secret -
Suggestion for Chris MaunderRight on, Chris. I'm SO sick of hearing Gnazi's like this fellow go on and on about open source like it's the sole domain of Gnu/Linux. People have been releasing source code for public consumption since long before that insipid buzzword (or Linux) came along.

Linux Rules!!!Good lord, who let the Slashbots out?

Chris: No more Anonymous Posting!Creating an account with a bogus name isn't considered a crime.

Chris: No more Anonymous Posting! That works for Slashdot because they're moderating hundreds of comments on any given topic. I don't believe this will work on a message board where the topic changes so frequently and the number of responses is limited. As a side note, I find Slashdots moderation system somewhat amusing. If you post a comment that is in sync with the hivemind, it gets moderated up. If you post a comment that, say, criticises Linux, it gets moderated down.

Chris: No more Anonymous Posting! From the looks of the authors replies, he seems to be able to take care of himself (and comes off as being more than a little obnoxious). Forcing people to use "real" names before they can post wont stop this kind of behavior. The malcontents will just create a bogus ID before posting.

Congratulations Australia!!As an Australian working in the US, it was pretty interesting to see NBC's coverage of the opening ceremonies. They did a good job of explaining the reason for the female olympians and seemed genuinely excited about Cathy Freeman being chosen to light the flame. One thing that struck me as suprising was the number of competitors in the Australian team this year. For a population of some 20 million, we've got as many athletes competing as the US.

Official: Microsoft's C# is CoolI'd have thought Microsoft would have to say something in order for it to be "official".
