Hello, I managed to get my subscription working. Here is what I have done on my test environment. My client uses oracle-instant-client 11.2.0.1. My db server is running Oracle 11.2.0.1 release. Both client and server are on Centos OS. Previously, I have client on Centos and server on Solaris. I have done quite few tests with combination of different client, server and their OS. I found that the Oracle version and the OS platform contributed to the issue that I had. As a preliminary quick test, I also ran my client on the same box where my db server was running. In my case, this worked fine. Hopefully, this will help. Cheers, sw

Hello and thanks for your reply! Actually this did solve part of the problem. Now I do get html for the validators like this: span id="Login1_validatorReqFieldUserName" style="color: Red; display: none;" but I don´t seem to get the javascripts that makes the actual validation work.

in general these kinds of casts will only work towards the base class. ie a test is an XmlDocument but an XmlDocument is Not necessarily a test. you could use the "as" operator t = doc as test; this will return t == null if doc is not of type test. If you know how to convert an XmlDocument into a test then you could create a cast for it public static explicit operator Test(XmlDocument doc) { //your conversion algorithm here } HTH Russ

You mean Text and ErrorMessage? I´ve tried giving both value but the problem remains :( EDIT: I might add that the problem only occurs if I leave textbox blank. If I type in a few letters and press enter all the validators show correct messages in the summarycontrol.
