Maybe some day I will love Vista and give you the reason, but is not the momment, still happy with WinXP and belive me that is not fear to the change. What I can want, a UI no way, a better WinExplorer.. let me with TotalCommander, a pic viewer, let me use infranview, a better win media player, let me with WinAmp and BsPlayer or mplayer port.

What stability problems do you have with XP ?? check out out there, Vista has a lot of problems, some interesting bugs, problems with DRIVERS that are not very good yet, so I must to repet that WinXP is more stable than Vista. So problems you are having with Vista have nothing to do with Vista. Furthermore, dells shipping with Vista have pretty good driver support in my experience.

I dont have problem with Vista, I read a lot of post about problems, side bar hang up, etc A big for problem for my clients was that their Enterprise Apps got problems running Vista, and about the security, Nobody can said now WinVista is more secure than XP, only the time can give us the answer.

I cant belive you in this topic, I agree that Vista can run perfectly in your new machines, but no that Vista is faster than XP, from the GUI to the security checks it is imposible Glad to talk with you Best Regards Marcos

I have three points to my response 1. You have never used Vista 2. XP is not more stable than Vista 3. If an upgrade is "useless" why are they buying new machines?

The problem is not that there are "afraid" Maybe the problem is a useless upgrade :P in fact these users are HAPPY with WinXp, They are productive in the old OS, all the programs work, the OS is completely stable, their machines work better with Xp ... So give them a real reason to upgrade... For me there are no ones. Best Regards

  • GDI/GDI+ Hardware Acceleration removed in Vista?
    M Marcos Meli

This sucks !!! I hate Vista too and for much more reasons, and I try to don't use it for at least 2 or 3 years, I´m with you in your appreciation of Vista and all their needs to win market at all cost !!! is amazing to see them giving away notebooks, free learning, free books, free versions, etc, protecting the Office Ribbon with a completely hiden supposed patent over it. In fact today I see the Codeproject/Vista contest for good articles about Vista, a lot of M$ contests to make FREE DEVELOPERS ! to create Gadgets for their Windows System !! For the mother of GOD !! We need to stop the marketers and the "ONLY THINK IN FORWARD" PEOPLE AT M$ NEAR ALL US ARE WORKING IN REAL ENTERPRISE AND NOT IS TIME TO PLAY WITH NEW TECH AND FANCY AERO, SHADOWS, EFFECTS, 3D... I LOVE ALL THAT STUFF, BUT AT WORK THE ENTERPRISES NEED BUSSINES VALUE AND NOT FANCY TECH. The last thing that I want to said is that M$ is also killing the Open Source ecosystem, you dont notice the reductions of release of the main Open Source products for DotNet ?? (only the corporation financed ones are up and continously evolving) And now this, hahah is so much that I need to . Sorry for my English An Angry Open Source Developer (Ex Microsoft FAN) Go to the Hell Microsoft  !!!

Don´t look bad, but I think that a bit of GRADIENTS don´t hurt for example in the green tool bar and in the backs of the top and left a little gradient between a light orange and a bit more dark orange will look better :) Anyway just my 2 cents Cheers And keep moving forward. ----- --> my articles [^]

Hi all I think that be cool if you add the popularity rate in each article in the category listing (for example C| Articles[^]) because some times an article with 1 vote appears at top and somethings not is so good as the others. The same thing happend in the last best picks area, is a good idea that an article qualify for the Best Pick after 5 or 8 votes. Best Regards Marcos ------------ My Articles[^]

  • Some suggestions
    M Marcos Meli

Hi, first for all I want to thanks for this wonderfull site  I think your are in the right way allways adding new features and improviding others !! This is a list of little things that can be added, is just my 2 cents. - Add and RSS feed for the messages in the articles. - Add to the stats the numbers of downloads and use it for the popularity. - Add a copy of the vote radio buttons at the top, near the Result. - Remember the downloaded articles for each user (private). - Allow users to be notified by mail when the article is updated, maybe clicking in a button at the bottom of the page. - Add a way to remove old files from the article editor when the owner update it. - An easy way to get a permanent link because all the links to the useritems directory will be wrong (Anyway the asp page propouse the correct one, but I see in the newsletter that you use a permanent link) - To the lastest best picks the articles must have more than 8 or 10 votes (to avoid noise) - When you browse for example for controls these are sorted by rating (not is better to use populatiry ?) CodeProject is the better source of good stuff in DotNet and others technologies and is an honor to send articles to this site and help to enhace it :):) Thanks Again !!!
