The problem was that, that my host-server and sql server wad in one domain and they use different internal ip addresses, but I was given a different sql server address so I could reac it from outside the domain.:) So I got the real ip and everything works fine! Thanx

No, the thing is that I do not know what kind of table I will use in advance. What I need is application that gets a dataset with one table that need to reported! So I do not know how to build a report from a scratch. I know how to set a datasource for report but how to add columns (fields) to it I do not know! Of course if it is possible at all.

You can't use a DataView as a datasource. It's supposed to work, but my contact at Crystal told me that there is a bug in the current release that doesn't let it connect properly. Hopefully they will fix this in a future release. CR works with datasets, but not dataview. I discovered this while working on my book and discussed it with tech support. They worked on it and decided that there must be a casting error in their code and they created a KB issue for it. Hopefully it will be fixed in a future service pack.

I just made a simple application with two reports where first one uses dataset and second one connects directly to database. Second one works much faster!:(((

No you cant. Session is part of application and every application got its own sessions (users). So, the best way to do it is to share data between two applications. The problem here is that every application living in its own application domain. Every application domain got its own memory address so you can’t share data between them. As far as I know you can overcome it using two methods 1) Using remoting to share the data. Slower 2) Using memory map file to share the data. Faster.
