I am in Madrid, working for a UK Company and I am from Australia.... So I am sort of living the dream life.... I might be in the office once every 2 months.... So I am in the extreme situation... So 4 days home and 1 day office sounds perfect to me... Enough time home, but still getting away from home enough to have a bit of space and variety.... Sounds good, I would take it.... M :-D

Commute time & Work from home... -
[Message Deleted]Hi Pathak, I think you will be mad to value your career over your wife... Bottom line (IMHO)... If you love your wife, than your life together comes first, stay at home until you can get the opportunity that is best for your family not just yourself... And Hey if you are good enough to be offered to go to the states now, its most likely going to happen again in the Future! About getting US Experience... well I had been to the States 3 times for work when I was a consultant but when I went to the UK, it did not mean anything, I had to start from the bottom AGAIN! But thats life! Good luck with the Decision, Mark

SCI FI Book Related QuestionAbout 8 years ago I was talking to a random Stranger on a Train (this was in Australia so its not that uncommon to do there, well for me anyway).... And I was chatting with a gentleman about 20 years older than me and he was telling me about a Author who wrote a long series of books about a Futuristic World with Vampires .... and i have a rotten memory, and stupidely did not write down the author's name... Does this ring any bells about who the author might be or what the series could be? Any help would make me sleep a little better at night... Thanks Mark:-D

Active X in a Smart Client (is it Possible)Hi Everyone, I was wondering if any one has implemented a smart client with active X objects inside of it? For Example a Winform Smart Client with VLC ActiveX or MediaPlayer ActiveX objects in the application to view streams. If you have, any tips or pointers or code fragments would be much appreciated. Is it even Possible? How would the code confirm that all the ActiveX components are installed on the Machine? Thanks in Advance;) Regards Mark

Right-click on the taskbar and see if it is under toolbars.
Yes the tool bar is there under toolbars... Is there any way to add tool bars directly to the desktop?

Also, if you unlock the taskbar, you should be able to move the Quick Launch bar anywhere you want.
Yes I have the taskbar unlocked thats whats frustrating me... I go to drag the tool bar... and it does not go anywhere even though the cursor changes ... is there a way to undock the tool bar from the taskbar... thats the key step I cannot figure out... it was working the other day... And I have not done any windows updates or anything... Thanks for your help Bassam I will look at the Free Launch Bar

Windows GUI Question (Not Programming)Hi Everyone, Yesterday, I created a tool bar in my task bar... and pointed it to a folder ... and dragged it out of the task bar so it was on the top of my screen. I found it very useful cos its like a Quick Launch Bar but not in the task bar... leaving more space for windows tabs... Then all of sudden the toolbar disappeared... and since then I cannot get it to do the same thing... Does anyone have an ideas on how I can do it again? I can create the toolbar but it does not seem to drag out of the task bar... Any clues or ideas? Thanks in Advance, Mark
