Agreed, I'd say a Personal Firewall is compareable to a Virus checker for security reasons. I'd go without a virus checker before I'd go without a Personal Firewall' My vote goes to Atguard. You can also eliminate most Banner Advertising and pop up windows with it. Now that's got to be worth something. I have found IP scans and the like appear to come in waves eg you have a heavy week and then several quiet weeks. I Guess alot of it is being done by aoutomated bots etc, Also a lot of the "Hackers" seem to think they are annonymous, and get a real surprise when you make a phone call to them. (Thats another story). What I mean is most of them aren't genius's but have the tools to attack you. Regardz Colin Davies

Hello Maureen For non programmers, I would recommend that you download a copy of JavaScript tutorial from the website: www.trainingtools.com. It is an excellent book in pdf format. I will later tell you some other good books for reference, but you would do well to visit http://javascript.internet.com where there are thousands of scripts for use.You can download and study them to get a feel of how to use the various aspects of JvaScript. We could have an MFC forum, but then we'd need an ATL forum, an STL forum, a COM forum etc. I think it's easier simply to have a single forum that deals with all VC++ issues in one place so people don't have to continually jump around looking for information. Maybe if one particular topic becomes more active than others then we'll branch out.
