It's been too late for quite a while! Your company's flagship product is an obsolete, legacy POS (and I don't mean a Point of Sale; something else). Getting to the show floor on January will do nothing for them, because the product is (obviously) being rushed into production: you are ready to start a major project that needs a re-think, re-design (tablet UI's really are different!), re-code in a different language, re-test, re-document and re-market, all of it in four months, all by yourself (you and what army?). My opinion is that you should use the next four months to find yourself a new job ...

No, it had upper case, lower case and (some) symbols. Actually, the 1500 was one of the best all-around (very) dumb terminals of the time. Unfortunately, I was a poor CS student at the time and I couldn't afford it, so I ended up buying the HeathKit machine and then spent a whole summer with a soldering iron in one hand and a creased and worn assembly manual on the other ... not that any one of us buzzards highly respectable developers would do anything like that today! :rolleyes:

Hate to admit this, but I once put my paws on a VAX (and before that a PDP-1180, and a home-brewed LS-11 chipset-based contraption that was at the time sold by Heathkit). :(( :((
