Yeah I don't do subscriptions. I have the last version of stand alone Photoshop and that's good enough for me, I rarely use it anyway. I can do most of my photo editing in Lightroom.

There's got to be a spell somewhere that could solve this? I read somewhere, I don't remember if for dogs or cats that you put a balloon where you don't want them to go and when they pop it they never go there again.

Was wondering that myself. Hope it doesn't just fade away. It's too good a site to not be picked up by someone/group and bring it back to life.

and started looking at Smalltalk. Downloaded the Squeak/Smalltalk[^] IDE and associated docs. I've heard a lot about Smalltalk in the past but didn't think much of it, but after kicking the tires I am really impressed. The Squeak IDE is very powerful and I think I might try a small project and see how it goes.

I've been with CP for over 20 years, was "Old Timer" in my first iteration. Before that I had been away from programming for many years and I used CP to catch up. I tried but I had lost too much and couldn't compete with the younguns coming out of school. But I still enjoy programming and probably die at the keyboard. :)

Yes we do have a great governor, he's always prepared. Hope everything gets back to ?somewhat? normal soon. We here in N.FL. made out well, but we're still recovering from Helene.

Ditto, they're fixin to get hit hard, hope she stays safe. We got though without any damage but we had about 30 trees down. We think the way some are twisted off that we had at least one tornado come through our area. There's a swath through our neighborhood were it is obvious something bad went through by the amount of damage and we are the worst hit. We bought the house because of all the beautiful trees and now there are hardly any left, turns out they were all end-of-life water oaks. We have 3 acres with a frontage of about 300 yards and we have enough debris stacked along the road to fill an estimated 10 large dump trucks. Luckily we had family and friends help with cleanup. Funny while we were cleaning up we had people drive by, slowly gawking and taking pictures.

I avoid the STL and most of the C++ standard runtimes.
Ditto I ran into problems because of basic stupidity on my part and trying to do something that I hadn't done before. Responsible memory/resource management is crucial in all embedded languages. I generally don't do dynamic memory allocation, just instantiate classes once. When I do need to do dynamic memory allocation I attempt to allocate blocks that are the same size to reduce fragmentation. When I can't do that I am very cautious to destroy when done with. You can shoot just as big a hole in your foot using C as C++!
