Use a Proxy Server, cache the code, for x number of days, windows PC running proxy between the router and clients, if your service provider, then create offline image they can download see check out "media-creation-tool-install" for windows 10 or provide a proxy server for the download. However, the updates, as windows 10 runs as a service, yr at the mercy of Microsoft, what they send could be enormous, and it could be regular, it could be complete replace or patching.

Windows 10 Automatic Downloads is blowing data caps. -
VS 2013 Community ISO file size is enormousTend to agree, Microsoft needs to peel back the installer and downloader with options, do we need SQL Server, no!, do we need C++, no!, do we need this shite, no!, what we want is options and it compiles runs and delivers package, don't care about the other stuff. On the other side, I've got beaglebone, (intention is .net) and tried to download pre windows 10 version which over 8 gig (as you have to build yourself or package it), flick, that's bleep##, umm do need all that rubbish, just want the arm code, and not as an image, all I want is to add my drivers for i/o, a/d etc.. to the build, Flick how difficult can student make it!, don't want the the rubbish!

Restarting WindowsTend to agree, Microsoft updates are the biggest offender, I used to do software packaging for a very Large Global Company and we repackaged every MSI/Install because of this and/or bad/poorly developed MSI installs. We talking about 1,000++ software apps. So that the MSI would install with no prompts if using /qb option and no reboots, never ever needed one. The only ones would be exception is windows service pack or Anti-virus software (were it want's to check the boot load), even that could be re-worked to install and reboot scheduled later. That's my 50 cents worth! :-D
