I think the session will end when they close the browser as when they open the browser again they will have to login. Although with tabs it may differ I think when you close one tab and open another it doesnt end the current session. Although this is just a guess but I'm pretty sure im right

You have to explicitly clean the com object in your code. Use override dispose function in class where you are using the com class and after using the com object clean it in your dispose function. We can't guess what you consider an architecture level, but if you do not see it in the list, it is probably not changed significently. For example, why should they change the garbage collector?

Use ADO.NET to communicate between business logic and the database (it will handle the network traffic for you). If your UI and business logic are on different servers "Windows Communication Foundation" surprisingly enough can be used as a foundation to communicate between two Windows servers. :) If you are stuck with the outdated 2.0 Framework you might have to use Remoting or old webservices for the communication instead. This pretty much forces you to make your own data transfer objects and other boring tasks. You can also use DataSets to communicate from your business logic to the GUI - this allows you to reflect the database more or less unchanged in the GUI which greatly reduce development time for the "small" price of unmaintanable code. If you are a consultant who only needs to make sure there is a future revenue stream it might be the way to go. If you do use datasets, please make sure to put this in the subject of future code project posts so I won't open them by accident and get sick. :)

Hi, basically impersonation is a means for a particular process account to access a given ressource on behalf of some other process accounts. Simply speaking, say i am a user process and i have access to some local resources on my computer. You are another process which does not have access to local resources on my pc. If you really need to access these local resources, i can give you access by letting you "impersonate" me (i.e temporarily take my identity). This often occurs in ASP.NET where the account IUSR_YOUR_MACHINE_NAME is required to execute some resources to which it does not have rights. In this case, you have to give ASP.NET the right to impersonate another account (say admin account for example) to do the job. Eg. If you need to save a file on the server and the account IUSR_YOUR_MACHINE_NAME does not have enough rights to do it, it is a common practice to allow ASP.NET to temporarily take the identity of another account to perform the job.
