Hi, I'm not 100% sure, but it might be caused by UNICODE-related settings. Make sure your call to CopyFile is actually using CopyFileW. Also, you can check your compiler command line to see if it uses UNICODE option.

I eventually managed to solve my problem; it turned out to be a namespace problem. The XamlXmlReader and XamlReader classes I tried using existed in the System.Xaml namespace. I should have used the classes in the System.Windows.Markup namespace. The solution thus was: return System.Windows.Markup.XamlReader.Load(new XmlTextReader(new StringReader(xaml))) as FlowDocument; Works like a charm ! OD

Hi Guys, I've managed to track down the "leak". The application uses a mailslot to send some frequent statistical data to another process for display. The receiving program was receiving the data a lot slower than the sender was transmitting it, so eventually the Mailslot IPC ran out of shared memory and from there all the problems started.

Try implementing a Layered Service Provider. This is a DLL that gets loaded by every application that uses Winsock. Look up Winsock Layered Service Provider, or LSP. “Cannot find REALITY.SYS...Universe Halted.” ~ God on phone with Microsoft Customer Support

Sounds strange, maybe your routers do some traffic shaping or you hit a bottleneck in your network infrastructure. I would try to send more dummy data with the connection handshake (to see if that has a negative or positive impact), plus try another listening port number. /M My Webchat in Europe :java:

What listening port are you using, could it be that incoming LAN traffic not meant for your application is crashing it? Just to make sure bind your listening socket specifically to 127.0.0.1 and not to INADDR_ANY. In any case, do stress testing to reproduce and isolate the trouble maker. /M My Webchat

Matthew, are there at least some commonly accepted Best Practices for documenting projects ? I have already decided that we will use Doxygen to document/comment the source code, but what do we use to depict the actual design/architecture/data flow/etc of our project ? Regards

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the comments. Just one or two other things: 1. I can not write the file in one shot, as the files are 250MB in size. I can not allocate 250MB to write to a file, there is just not enough ram. 2. We've found FAT32 wholly unsuitable for big partitions (120GB and up). FAT32 does not even format reliably on these big partitions. Cheers OD
