  • I finally did it
    P Peter Kurishev

I usually use bike as my main transportation device during summer to / from work. I have to go 10 kilometers from home to work and the same - back :). My average speed is about 20 km/h to work and 15 km/h - back :). Driving (on car) takes from 20 to 50 minutes :). Good luck on your way home!

Have you installed VirtualBox tools? Or how do they call it in VirtualBox... :)

Both VirtualBox and VMWare are working fine for me. The main difference from my point of view is that VMWare slower and more stable and VirtualBox faster, but crashed several times for some strange reason.

  • What the....
    P Peter Kurishev

As I know there are some models of Ethernet hardware routers / firewalls that have AV protection inside it. This can help. I can hardly imagine AV protection in BIOS :)

    P Peter Kurishev

Use another AV software or try to reconfigure the one you have. Move scanning to night and choose not to scan all the files (only executables and script) at realtime. Change the priority of the AV scanner.

  • Book suggestions
    P Peter Kurishev

I've read recently the "Sandworms of Dune" book. It is quite good if you like "Dune" series. I do not like Kevin J. Anderson after several books on StarWars extended universe, but "Sandworms of Dune" have good quality and interesting as I think. Another book I've liked is Freakonomics, but it is a non-fiction book.

Yep, it was a bad idea to post it here. Sorry about that. My apology for this.

  • Poll: What's your preference for passwords
    P Peter Kurishev

It seams that most secure and widely used way is to provide a "reset password" link. This also can give a user a call that somebody wants to steal his/her account. Good thing is also to check the user with some kind of question to be sure. Like "What is your most commented section on CodeProject.com?" :)
