PowerShell is awesome. Simply amazing. Easy to learn. Get a copy of Windows Powershell Programming for Absolute Beginners. You will learn it easily, and never look back at that ugly CMD Prompt again.

Programmer vs software engineerI consider myself to be a Software Engineer (Level 5). That's my official title here at FlightSafety Simulation Systems as well. But to function in that capacity, I do need to constantly stay abreast of current programming technologies, environments, and tools. This often makes me feel like a Software Developer. We were Computer Programmers in the 1980s, when we had mainframes and only a few languages like FORTRAN, Pascal, and COBOL. The programs were coded on whole-punched cards that were submitted to the mainframe computer room for compilation, and the output was usually merely on printed paper. There were no IDEs, no Googles, no flat-screen monitors, and no CodeProject. That's when we were Programmers. ;)

Happy valentines dayI don't LOVE to code. It's just fun, interesting, and a creative way to get a decent paycheck. But for those of you that are passionate about code, you should try NuGet and chocolatey this Valentine's Day.

Learning C# courseThank you! Got the entire book. I had to download it from home, since your site was blocked at work.

Learning C# courseHow do you check PMs (Private Messages) in Code Project?
-
Learning C# courseWhat is a PM???
-
Learning C# courseThat's only a sample! Nobody can learn all about C# by reading only chapters 1 and 10. That's why I asked about the rest of the book. :omg:

Learning C# courseHi there! Looks like a good learning book. I had a look at the free PDF of Chapter 1 and 10, but I found it to be a little too Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2013 centric. We use Windows 7 and VS 2012 here at work. Does the rest of the book read more as a progressive tutorial, or more like a reference book? How much do want for it? ;)

Some posts should be rejected by AII wasn't trying to be serious, but I do try to demonstrate intelligence on a regular basis. Mostly my post was intended as a joke, since I don't think it would be possible to ever design an algorithm that could accurately evict nonsensical posts! :)

Some posts should be rejected by AIReally? That is interesting. So there's a bunch of people on CodeProject being vetted by employers. You're right. I did not realize that. It sure explains why there are so many posts written by people that can barely communicate in English.

Some posts should be rejected by AISeriously. I have encountered so many nonsensical posts here at Code Project, it either makes my LMAO  or it makes my cry. :(( Why doesn't some genius at CodeProject design a filtering algorithm that decides if the post first resembles ANY form of intelligence? I am certain that the mediators would love this idea.

c sharp user controlYour reply is perfect. Especially the joke about the 10 types of people.

Learning C# courseI agree. Well, then... I guess we will just have to keep our fingers crossed (or keep looking). :~

Need various algo asked during interview for dotnet C#I suggest that you first learn how to communicate in English before trying to program in any other language!

Learning C# courseI agree that MSDN is pretty much like reading an encyclopedia. Lots of accurate, detailed information, but drier than stale beef jerky. Sounds to me like you're looking for something similar to what I'm after. I have been considering taking a C# class at our local community college, but I'd prefer something I can do at home on my free time (and schedule). I've already read and experimented with most of the projects in a book called Head First C#. That's pretty much how I taught myself the basics. I am now using Professional C# 2005 (another book) as my go-to reference for my on-the-job projects here at FlightSafety (Broken Arrow, OK). If you find a web site or another book that's a more advanced version of Head First C#, please let me know! Thanks. :-D
