Why would you not want Visual Studio integration? Who wants to have extra windows open and not have everything in one IDE? We use Sourcegear running from our webserver and everytime we check files in, it writes to shadow folders which essentially becomes our staging environment. Clients can see projects being developed in real time and our staging server is always up to date. This set up works for us with no issues.
