I work in the IT department of a community college. Recently we had a student had difficulty logging into our computers. Numerous people tried to help him. Even several people from our department talked with him. The problem? Well, he would use the space bar to clear out the username of the previous person who logged on the computer. Then type his username. Well, appearantly, no one was able to get him to understand that ' hisusername' is not equal to 'hisusername' and he still does this and still think's there's a problem with our network. oh well

U3 won't work at the college I work at. We've blocked it from running on our computers. The virtual cd-rom behavior is letting students install and run unapproved software...and students keep accidently infecting our lab computers with that Antivirus 2009 virus when they stick their infected thumb drives into our computers. Not sure what all the issues are with U3. Since I'm the programming department I've only overhear the complaints from the network support people.

I work at a college. We use Microsoft SteadyState in our computer labs. Since we started using it we've had no problems with students messing up the computers. It allows windows update to work. It even works with antivirus programs and allows them to stay up to date. We only wish we started using it sooner. The best part is it's free.
