My favourite part of the job is passing on knowledge and watching people grow, having been doing it for almost 30 years I guess I have acquired some degree of experience to share (whether some people want me to or not :)) I have been doing this long enough that several people I helped mentor have gone on to 'better' things sometimes at the same company sometimes elsewhere. Which is fine by me, those better things often involve managing people, which I have never had any interest in doing.

Bean to cup machines - Coffee, of course. Can confirm Jura machines are great. We have just got a new E8 and it makes great espresso. We did have a Jura Impressa C9 for many years (and several services). But it got changed for a Miele (because you can remove and clean the brew unit). That lasted 2.5 years before disassembling itself on Christmas Eve. Luckily the January sales meant we managed to get the Jura for £800, which with the amount of working from home is a bargain . BTW, I have no connection to Jura, I just like their coffee machines.

Full Stack DevelopersI am a Full Stack Developer. Apparently 'Senior Software Developer' wasn't hip enough so my job title got changed a couple of years ago, by the same person who wanted to hire 'rock-star developers'. He no longer works with us.

First experience of programmingEarly 80's BASIC on a Commodore VIC-20 My parent's wouldn't buy a ZX-81 as it didn't have a proper keyboard, so I wouldn't be able to learn to type on it. I still can't touch type to this day!

Laziest code you've seen this week?I wrote a C++ program to close a dialog which is left open by another program when it loses it's connectionto SQL Server, which it does on a not infrequent basis. In my defence: 1. The offending program is written in VB6 and I am not refactoring that. 2. It is running on Windows 7. Not an actual server OS. (Until last year when the physical hardware got vitualised it was XP) 3. No one else here really knows C++ so that will be my lasting gift to them :-D

IE, Chrome, Firefox... preferencesLast used IE for any extended period about 6 years ago. Went to FF, which I used for about 3 years then Chrome which seems fine. At home I use Safari and Chrome on the Mac. Tried may others especially when distro hopping on an old laptop (Midori, Ice Weasel etc) but Chrome seems so ubiquitous now and I have an Android phone and tablet so it forms a common theme.
