Hello Chris, I was originally thinking of something similar to how gmail uses the vi-ish navigation keys. BUT, that was before I was enlightened about the Ctrl-Arrow navigation already in place on the forums. Thanks and have a good day, Larry

Suggestion: keyboard shortcuts for forumsHello. I did, indeed, miss those shortcuts. Thanks for pointing them out. They look like they will somewhat help.

Suggestion: keyboard shortcuts for forumsGreetings, Would it be possible to implement vi-ish keyboard shortcuts for navigating and reading forums? Something similar to Gmail could be cool. Thanks for reading, Larry

What stops you from telecommuting ?- I feel that I'm more productive on those occasions when I work from home. I make more of a conscious effort to be more productive to make sure (1) I don't abuse the system (b) others don't assume that I'm abusing the system. I have broadband at home. I use my work laptop to VPN into the corporate infrastructure. It is just like I'm in the office with all my tools and resources at my fingertips. - Nearly every single day that I go into the office, I contemplate staying at home to work. The thing that gets me to go to the office? Our noon running group. Three of the days are social runs and two are hard workouts. Both types of runs motivate me to endure the commute and the office. The older I get, the greater role this run serves to get me into the office. Larry

The other nice thing about Sirius is that you are also able to listen to it over the internet.
They have just recently introduced a fee to listen online.

Shhhh.... don't tell the AmericansToo funny. That's an excellent post!!!! Your second paragraph is the best thing I've read about the "Super Bowl" today. Disclosure: I played it when I was in school. And I still occasionally watch it in person and on the TV. Just curious, what did you think of the half time show?

Two of my four office walls are windows from ground to ceiling which is quite nice (there are only meadows and forest around the building),
... that sounds like a very very cool office. I'm in the middle of the building so there is no natural light. We do have "open spaces" with lots of windows.

Office lighting preferenceWhat is your office lighting preference? Do you like it dark, do you use a small lamp, do you default to the overheads, do you use some other configuration?

Run? You mean outside? It's COLD you fool!
Yea, I know. But it isn't really all that bad. I just got in from running 5 miles on neighborhood roads near the office. It is 22 degrees with a -3 wind chill factor with the sun shining brightly and, with the right clothes on, it was like a run on the beach. Ok, instead of sand, it was snow. And, instead of beach balls, it was shovels. Other than that ...

NC is still much cheaper than NY. come on down! you won't be alone, it seems like a quarter of all the people i meet down here are from upstate NY (myself included).
Where in Upstate do you come from and where did you land in NC?

frankly, i miss the snow. we've only had 1/2" here in the past 2 years.
Did the half inch shut down the entire region?

Oh, I wish. Anywhere in the Caribbean would be nice. Maybe I could open a software development/guided tour boat company.

SnowHere in the Syracuse, New York State, USA, region, we are getting buried in snow. Again. (or maybe that should be "Still") Is anyone else getting too much snow? Anyone else sick of this? If you live in a snowy region:
- Do you drive a vehicle that gets around well in snowy conditions? what do you drive? Do snow tires help enough to justify the cost or are all-weather tires good enough?
- Do you remove the snow from the roof of your house? From your deck?
- Do you put chemicals on your driveway and sidewalk to help keep it clean?
- Shovel, plow or snow blow?
- Make a special path for the dog to go outside?
- Can you see out of your driveway when pulling out? If not, how do you safely get out of your driveway?
- In the morning do you shovel before or after your shower?
- If you are a runner, do you run outside in the snow? Do you find drivers are cautious around you when you are running? Do you substitute cross country skiing or snow shoeing?
- Do you carry a snow shovel in your car, just in case? Emergency gear like clothes, food, water?
- Any other winter survival tips?
If you don't get an opportunity to enjoy wintery, snowy conditions, can I come and live with you? Thanks for reading this far, Larry

Code signing? [modified]At our place, I sign Excel VBA macros because it is cheaper to sign than to explain (and re-explain) the warning dialog boxes. Especially when the users sit on mahogany row.
