X| But once you got to (and survived) Paris, you'll forget anything about rules anyway: everyone just goes whereever there's room, while watching out for others who do just that! I once read that a good way to cross main roads in Paris (Champs-Elysee or whatever), is getting a newspaper, opening and holding it up in front of you, and then crossing the street oblivious to the cars: since everyone is watching out for idiots like you they'll drive around you no problem. :wtf: The alternative is watching cars passing left and right who won't make way for you as long as you don't move. Right...as I understand it (and I keep forgetting about this, since I'm not a Steam user) you can buy/install older games through Steam, and those games might predate Steam itself and not know anything about it or try to sync state and the like. In that sense, you're absolutely right, Steam is just the delivery mechanism and a game not designed for it would work just as if you had purchased/installed it from disc. And it's not Steam's responsibility in that situation to bring back your saved state between one machine and another...

I'm a little late to the party, but I have a suggestion. Make sure all USB accessories are unplugged from the laptop before attempting to boot. I've seen cases where a USB device can stop a laptop from booting even though the device is functional. The difficult we do right away... ...the impossible takes slightly longer.

You have a point about the overall price of Paradox games if you want to get all DLCs. I'm playing the vanilla version of the game, which I bought four years ago; you don't have to buy each and every addon to have a great gaming experience. On the other hand, Paradox edited several games I really enjoyed playing; it is not the first editor which comes into my mind when asked which ones I would avoid (when I thing about what EA made to Sim City...). My youngest won't get in, because she doesn't reach the door opener. But she will knock on the door, until I open or my wife takes her. The oldest one opens from time to time because she wants to show me a drawing she made, or ask me if I want something to eat or things like that. I am social distancing by going to my office as normal. No-one else is there! Effectively: 1. Private office 2. Private bathroom 3. All communication via email, etc. 4.
