B cannot see A's privates. If you made the variable protected, it would be visible to B. Otherwise you can make B a friend class of A, but in this case that would be kind of redundant, unless A has other classes derived from it which should be disallowed from seeing A's private stuff. The problem is that both CWinApp and CWnd delcare a HtmlHelp function, too. And this function takes only 2 parameters. So I think you've to call the function as a global one, thus calling ::HtmlHelp. If you need more information you should have a look at MSDN. There're many examples dealing with this topic.

You only need one button (think about the copy/cut/paste button in windows explorer, they may be used in both left and right panes). I do not know much about MDI (since I've developped only few such app till now), but with GetActiveView, you should be able to grab the view whith the item currently selected when hitting your remove button. ~RaGE();

Hello, Q1: I dont think its possible using VS.Net Q2: the files that you have mentioned are requied to install the windows installer service if the same is not present on the target machine. The service in available by default in W2K and above. if the service s not found then setup.exe installs the installer service using these files, and then proceeds to the installation of your package. When your main frame has a status bar, MFC shows flyby help in the status bar for the selected menu item. The debug msg is saying that you don't have a flyby help string for the menu item with ID 0x98. you will need to setup a handler for a message that is reflected from the tree view back to the parent. Check this message, NM_RCLICK. Then you need to use the tree controls hittest functions to determine if the mouse position is on one of the nodes in question. Once you have that you can display your context menu. Hope that helps.
