Excellent point but aren't both sufficiently advanced technology? One merely presumes to have sufficiently advanced mental capabilities. But even Star Trek has had episodes of super-evolved humans (ie. floating orbs of light) so Id say one is agnostic and one is enlightened. In wikipedia[^] it says, "The acronym SEQUEL was later changed to SQL because "SEQUEL" was a trademark of the UK-based Hawker Siddeley aircraft company" So, obviously it was intended to be called Sequel - the acronym had to be shortened - the pronunciation stayed the same.
