are you storing them as DateTime or as string? it's quite difficult to handle dates stored as string, there are a lot of cases that you have to consider. Either store it as DateTime or as byte and convert bytes to datetime. Never save a Date as a string unless you want only to display that value and not do calculations

I would launch a timer from ViewError(); instead of putting it into a wait state. The speech recognition event can kill the timer if it still running; else the timer sets off whatever needs to be done after time has elapsed. (A basic "timeout" pattern).

Unfortunately it is very hard to identify the users using IP addresses because for some ISPs all customers might have similar IP address. The only way of doing this is installing small programs in the browser and getting their MAC address which is unique for all users but which is not possible without user permission.

Yes i was even shocked when i saw this. The thing the page itself does not timeout or give an error the chrome developer toolbar showed me that the page is blocked due to the mixed content. The error message is very clear and explicit: "The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized." That means that you need to log your downloader in to the site in some way in order to get access to teh files. I'd suggest you talk to the site owners about the best way to do that!
