I can't tell what data type you're using for EventDate in the "Events" DataTable, but if it's a DateTime it may be worthwhile to use a BETWEEN clause or >= and <= to compare dates (start at midnight, and end at 11:59:59, for instance) instead of LIKE. The bigger issue is that a call to Datatable.Select returns an array of DataRow objects (DataRow[]) from 0 to n members in length, not an integer. If your not already aware, a "singleton" is a class that only ever has one instance in existance at any time (some more strickter definitions might even say only one instance ever). You could pass an int to the child form's constructor, and in the constructor set TabControl.SelectedIndex to that int, or do this using the set accessor of a property of your child form, or many other ways. You loaded the document, then you told the document to create a new node. It doesn't know you want it inside the WebPwds element, so it just adds it to the end of its children (that means it adds it after the WebPwds element). You need to call "AppendChild" or something similar from the XmlNode you want to add to. You could for instance do something like: XmlNode webPwdsNode = doc.FirstChild; webPwds.AppendChild(newPwdNode); where newPwdNode is an XmlNode you created that contains all of the information you want. I personally normally load in a document (I usually validate with a schema too when I load stuff in) and create classes based upon what I read (I do this by hand instead of using serialization). When it's time to write it out, I then create a XmlTextWriter and write out the document from scratch. I, for one, do not think the problem was that the band was down. Speaking from a Tapi 2.1 perspective all you really get from Tapi is a handle to a wave device. Above that you really don't record using Tapi, that is done with the MM APIs. I am not sure about newer versions of Tapi. I think the concept is the same but the newer COM based Tapi interfaces use the concept of terminals instead of handles. A better way is to use an IFormatProvider for the British CultureInfo. For example, String.Format can take an IFormatProvider as the first parameter. This could be the CultureInfo.NumberFormat for the CultureInfo for the English (Britain) culture. By default, such methods uses the Thread.CurrentCulture but as I've mentioned you can override this behavior by passing an IFormatProvider. Your child forms could so something like this, assuming that your main form (ex, MainForm) had a String property called StatusText: MainForm form = (MainForm)this.MdiParent; form.StatusText = "Hello, world!"
