I am currently a .Net developer who has been tasked to pick out a tool for Mobile Development. I have looked at Phone Gap, Titanium, and a few others. The tool should be able to decrease development time of applications for IOS, Android and Windows phones and tablets. I am curious as to what tools developers are using and if they would choose the same product again.

Hello, I have a java program that runs/looks fine in windows however the "window" or the area of the screen containing the program remains small when viewing on a mac. The small size is causing fields to be truncated. For example part of the date of birth is not visible. I have googled the issue and noticed that users of yahoo games are having the same issue with java and macs. The reason I posted this in the java forums is I was wondering if there is any java code I can include to force the window to expand on a mac? The mac I am testing this on has the Lion os and java version (well apple's version) 634. Thank You for your help, Vix

It all starting with creating a blinking Christmas tree in BASIC back in junior high. Upon reaching college, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I started off at a two year college, the CIS degree was needing students so my adviser asked me to give that a try. :cool:

I am attempting to write a cover letter to apply for a job. My resume of course shows the standard here is what I know and what have I done. The problem I am having is I have sat in their shoes. I have reviewed resumes and interviewed candidates and have found that experience is not always reflected by the resume and cover letter. Some candidates state they are experienced with C# (for example) when questioned only had a class in it. Others that had the skills and were hired turned out to have no work ethic; always coming in late and leaving early; spending half the day on personal phone calls. How do I show them in a one page letter that I am a skilled, hard worker? Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated! Vix

Besides asking about how he/she individually contributed to projects ask them questions regarding the technologies and roles listed on their resumes. For example a prospective hire labeled himself as a database admin and programmer. When probing further into the database admin aspect we come to find he had no practical work experience as database admin other than a college class. Yet he considered himself an admin. This has happened time & time again.
